Would you like to be part of an association that is a national leader in regulatory reform? An association that promotes progressive ideas about competition in the local exchange network? The California Payphone Association is proud of the work it has done on behalf of members...
- Instrumental in obtaining an FCC Order that awarded compensation of $45.85 per phone per month for all coinless calling.
- Aided in the final FCC Order to deregulate the local coin rate, effective October 1997.
- Won state compensation which puts approximately $30 per phone per month into your pocket!
- Asked the FCC, CPUC and Pacific Bell for a coin line. California vendors now have the option of using a Coin or COPT line.
- Established a statewide COPT Enforcement Program, one of the first in the nation.
- Speaks as a unified voice for the payphone provider in the largest case in CPUC history, entitled IRD (Implementation Rate Design). In these proceedings the phone companies called for increases in charges that could have raised your average bill by as much as $18 per month. CPA was successful in ensuring these increases would not take place.
- Earned the association of the year award at the APCC West Show in April of 1997.
- Represents the payphone provider in hearings before the Public Utilities Commission.
- Works with cities and counties to monitor and influence ordinances that could affect your bottom line.
If you're interested in benefiting from CPA's above achievements and would like to proudly display the CPA logo on your payphones and letterheads, fill out an application and mail it today! Your support makes all private payphone vendors in California stronger!
